Contacting the dead has been a widely practiced art throughout history. Whether it be through séances, Ouija boards or psychic mediums, there are numerous ways to communicate with the spirit world. However, with every good there is an evil. Demons can find their way into this world through these different channels.

One popular one is known as the Ouija demon called Zozo, also spelled Zoso, Zaza, Zo, MaMa, Oz, Zo, Za or Alcaba. Zozo is one of many creatures that lurk in the darkness. He is well known throughout the paranormal world and has been the basis for many books, a movie.
Who is ‘Zozo’ the demon? Zozo is a demon who uses the Ouija board to communicate with his victims. He will pretend to be a spirit of a relative or someone you may know. Once he gains your trust he will take over the board and spell out his name over and over.

Zozo will spell obscenities and talk about taking family members to Hell. People affected by Zozo often report of misfortunes happening within a day. From car accidents to unexplained infections, families know it is the wrath of Zozo causing these events. He is known to stalk victims for months and even years; And is said to show strong attraction of the opposite sex.
Origins of ‘Zozo’ The Demon

One of the first mentions of ‘Zozo’ is from pre-zen Tibetan demonology in the 8th century. The book called,”Les Neuf Forces de L’homme” was written in 1998 by author Samten Gyaltsen Karmay and Philippe Sagante. The book tells the story about man-kinds fall from grace and details about a greatking named Zozo, “Lord of Demons“.
The story goes that the man was enclosed in an underground citadel of copper in the ninth story.
The king is released by the King of Yarlung and the power from this demon then strengthen the other demons causing the demons to extend power around the world.

Zozo and “Le Dictionnaire Infernal”

The demon ‘Zozo’ is also in book published in 1818 called “Le Dictionnaire Infernal“. The book was written by French author Collin de Plancy and it describes a young girl who claimed to be possessed by three different demons named Zozo, Mimi and Crapoulet.
The author claimed the girl would walk down the street on all fours and it caused enough concern to warrant a priest to perform an exorcism. When Zozo left the girl’s body, all of the windows in the room shattered.

Zozo and “The Harvard Theological Review”

Another reference to Zozo is from a book that discussed ancient Buddhist meditation. In the book it describes that if the student were to use meditation he/she would successfully purify the body and spirit.
It also continue that if the person were to continues to feel stress or fearful then they are susceptible to have demons take advantage such as that of the ‘evil Zo‘,

Darren Evans and Zozo

In 2009, Darren Evans published on a forum about his experience with the demon. According to his story, he was using an Ouija board with his girlfriend when he first had contact with the demon.

Well into the contacting session Zozo began making threats to Evan’s sister, Evan began having a nervous breakdown. Quickly he seemed an exorcist and Zozo left Evan soon after.
How To Get Rid of Zozo?

If you decided to play the Ouija Board without precaution on how to use it then you might have invited the demon without even knowing. Here are some ways to rid yourself of the demon.

1. You will have to seek an exorcist. Go to your local church and began to ask around for a specialist on this type of stuff.
2. Pray. Calling out the name of Christ holds more weight than any lower vibration entity.
3. After all of this, continue to believe in God and have the willpower to avoid going back to your old ways.
4. Burn sage, sage acts as a detoxifier to remove negativity in the rooms.

5. DON’T BURN OR CUT THE OUJIA BOARD. Treat the items with respect, including the planchette.
6. Make sure you shut it down properly. If you haven’t you left a channel open and will need to start a session to shut it down properly. Get the same group of people that played to insure no demon or evil spirit is near them. Then close the session by saying “Goodbye”.

After Summoning Zozo Your Electronic Devices Begin To Go Haywire

In an interview with the Baltimore Post Examiner paranormal investigator Darren Evans - who's had a lot of experience with Zozo - noted that the electronics around his house started acting up after he contacted the demon. His story was backed up by a user on Reddit who shared a story about what happened after they contacted the Ouija demon. After messing around with Zozo in a Ouija board session they went to bed thinking that everything was cool. That definitely wasn't the case.

"I was about to fall asleep when all of a sudden my favorite song started blaring from out of nowhere. I checked my devices. It was playing on my boyfriend's phone. It wasn't playing when I got in the room."

The Power In Your Place Keeps Going Out

Ghosts, demons, and creatures from the beyond either love to mess with electronics or something about their chemical makeup wreaks havoc on anything that uses electrical power. Whatever the case, if you've been chatting with Zozo through your Ouija board and you notice your power start to blink in and out you should know that you're in big trouble.
One Redditor who accidentally summoned Zozo confirms this theory. They wrote:
"I was sitting in my living room when all of a sudden the power goes out. It happened at almost the exact same time we started playing the Ouija board. Which I thought was kinda weird. Could be a coincidence but I wonder. And the power went out again a couple hours later, also coincidentally, when we played the last round."

You're Followed By A Shadow

There haven't been many instances where Zozo takes on a corporeal form, but it's not out of the question for an angry Ouija demon to start following you after a particularly harrowing chat. Darren Evans, a paranormal investigator from Oklahoma, has a long history with the Ouija board.
He began using the board to contact spirits in the '80s and has had plenty of close calls with demons like Zozo. The entity has come after him in a variety of ways, but at one point it took on physical form to attempt to intimidate him, and in his interview with the Baltimore Examiner it sounds like the tactic worked. Evans claims that "on two occasions I saw a black shadowy mass following me around."
If you're in a situation where every time you get on the Ouija board you come across Zozo you may want to take a step back as to not anger the demon anymore than you already have. If you don't you may find the demon stalking you through your waking life in shadow form.
